Oliviero Rouvigny, a failed writer and an alcoholic, lives in a crumbling mansion with his wife Irina, who is scared of Oliviero's cat, Satan, that used to belong to his late mother. To fight boredom, Oliviero organizes decadent parties for local hippies and humiliates and abuses Irina in front of the guests. After his mistress, a young student, is found murdered, Oliviero becomes the primary suspect.

The film uses many elements from Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Black Cat", and acknowledges this influence in the film's opening credits.

Eventually, he broadens his scope and anyone is fair game, even an innocent housewife and her nine year old son.

Perversion for Profit (1965)


Perversion for Profit is a 1965 propaganda film financed by Charles Keating and narrated by news reporter George Putnam. A vehement diatribe against pornography, the film argues that sexually explicit materials corrupt young viewers and readers, leading to acts of violence and "perverted" attitudes regarding sex - including inclination toward homosexuality. Although Perversion for Profit is quite serious in its suggestion that pornography could erode the integrity of American culture, Peter L. Stein of the San Francisco Chronicle wrote in a 2003 review that it was "shrill and sometimes comical".

Interesting sidenote: Charles Keating was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1992 for fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy.

The Black Godfather (1974)


J.J., a rising star in the black crime scene, is in the process of consolidating his power over the neighborhood. One of the only remaining obstacles is the white heroin cartel that is understandably reluctant to abandon such a lucrative market. Tensions rise between the two rivals, and people on both sides get killed. Eventually, the matter is destined to come to an explosive confrontation.

Black Fist (1974)


Black Fist is an obscure 1974 blaxploitation film about a street fighter who goes to work for a white gangster and a corrupt cop. The film stars Richard Lawson, Annazette Chase and Philip Michael Thomas with Dabney Coleman in the cast. The music track that provides accompaniment for the movie was released in 1977 and consists of vocal disco and funk instrumental tracks from performers such as Velvet Fire, Jesse James, Paul Humphrey, Geraldine Kaye, Bishop Mounger, Denise Gordy, Art and Ron, Sam and Jus' Us, and Sam Shabrin.

Street Trash (1987)


When a liquor store owner finds a case of "Viper" in his cellar, he decides to sell it to the local hobos at one dollar a bottle, unaware of its true properties. The drinks causes its consumers to melt, very messily. Two homeless guys find themselves up against the effects of the toxic brew, as well as going head to head with "Bronson" a Vietnam vet with sociopathic tendencies, and the owner of the junkyard they live in.

Home Sweet Home (1981)


The Bradley family and their friends gather at an isolated country home to celebrate Thanksgiving, but unbeknownst to the Bradleys, they have an uninvited guest. A giggling, PCP addled, homicidal maniac has escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane to satisfy his pent up lust for murder and has singled out their home for his psychopathic killing spree. One by one, the revelers will be methodically stalked and served up in the butcher's holiday blood feast until the Bradley's home becomes a grisly house of horrors.
